Basic (Emergency) First Aid (St. John Ambulance)
This is a classroom-based 1-day St. John Ambulance-certified course in Basic First Aid (previously called Emergency First Aid). It includes “Level A CPR” which trains you in CPR to do on adults. If you may need to do CPR on children and infants, you need to click back and enroll in the two-day Intermediate (Standard) First Aid – Level C.
The course combines theory and hands-on exercises to teach you the skills you need to preserve life and prevent further injury. More than half the class time is for hands-on practice of first aid skills, so you will leave our course able to perform practical first aid in emergency situations. This Basic First Aid course is suitable for people who can rely on ambulance services within 20 minutes of a 911 call. If you can’t rely on that, click back and enroll in Intermediate First Aid (previously known as Standard First Aid).
